About the event
We are thrilled to announce our next D&I event!
Have you ever wanted to play an African drum?
Have you ever wanted to create rhythms on a variety of instruments?
Have you ever wanted to experience the benefits of group drumming?
If so, this event is for you!!
Drumming together is good for our bodies, minds, and souls. It brings to us what our ancestors instinctively did, as do drummers all over the world.
We are happy to have this workshop lead by Damo, who has been providing these workshops for 15 years.
We will begin with some warm-up exercises, a discussion about the instruments, and the culture. Damo will then introduce you to the instruments and begin the workshop using Djembe, Dun Duns, Bells, and Shakers in the perfect uptown setting of Exhale Conscious Bar. Learn about West African percussion, the culture, the benefits of playing, and make some great music. No prior experience is necessary, and instruments are provided.
As the number of spots is limited, we encourage you to secure your place as soon as possible. We look forward to seeing many of you there.
