BTSS CHARITY OF THE YEAR 2023/24 - LADYWOOD COMMUNITY PROJECT

The BTSS Committee are really excited to announce that the Ladywood Community Project is our Charity of the Year!

The Ladywood Community Project aims to support people who are financially excluded or in financial crisis, particularly families, within the Ladywood area so that they are encouraged to feel part of the community. The services the charity provides include a crisis fund for fresh food vouchers, holding drop-in advice sessions, supporting people in fuel poverty and running a “Holiday Hunger Project”. The charity helps families manage their social, emotional and financial needs and has received The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service for outstanding work in the community in 2020.

The decision to partner with the Ladywood Community Project was driven by our commitment to supporting those who are most affected by the current economic climate. The current cost of living crisis has placed an immense burden on vulnerable communities in the Birmingham area. The Ladywood Community Project has proven to be an invaluable organisation with a demonstrated record of providing essential support and assistance to these communities.

We look forward to collaborating closely with the Ladywood Community Project to create a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of those facing financial hardships, by supporting the charity and their service users in any way we can. We have a number of exciting fundraising and volunteering opportunities planned and are looking forward to working with all our members to make this the best partnership we can.
